Make More Room

I wrote this song in December 2023. I mostly used my keyboard (a Christmas gift that year) to find the melodies for the chorus. Here is a video of an earlier version of the chorus melody. So think of the part "Is this space too full or can we make more room."

28 December 2023. Trying a different chorus melody before I found the one that ended up in the song.

I learned a few songs on piano from my best friend growing up, so that is the reason I can find middle C and play a scale. I also took 3 years of alto saxophone and choir in grade school, which is how I learned to read music. These early introductions shaped my love of melody in songwriting. I even had a couple of guitar lessons as a child but I gave it up quickly when I had trouble forming chords and no interest in learning the song "Greensleeves".

The continuation of my musical journey began in October 2022. Since then I have found so much joy in learning to play the guitar. I have found creative energy I didn't know I had through singing and songwriting. It is my great hope that this is only the beginning.
